How to Record Videos Using IC Capture

This guide explains how to record camera footage using IC Capture while operating the PuttView system.

Important

Automatic ball tracking will be temporarily disabled during the recording session.

All points and ball positions must therefore be entered manually using the tablet.

Always open the applications in the following order:

  1. Open IC Capture.exe.

  2. Open the PuttView application.

Step 1: Open IC Capture and Select the Camera

  1. Open IC Capture.exe.

  2. If the device-selection window appears when IC Capture starts, select the camera from the list and confirm your selection.

If the device-selection window does not appear automatically:

  1. Click Select Device in the top-left corner of IC Capture.

  2. Select the correct camera from the device-selection window.

  3. Confirm your selection and wait until the camera image is visible.

Once the correct camera is selected and the live camera image is visible, open the PuttView application.

Step 2: Load the Camera Configuration

You should already have a camera configuration file named:

AI_Config.iccf

This file contains the recommended camera settings for recording.

To load the configuration:

  1. In the IC Capture toolbar, click File.

  2. Select Load Configuration.

  3. Locate and select the AI_Config.iccf file.

  4. Confirm that the configuration has been loaded.

Step 3: Check the Camera Settings and Image Quality

The camera settings and image quality should also be checked by the support team before recording begins.

Show the Camera Settings Toolbars

If you cannot see the camera settings toolbars, enable them from the IC Capture menu:

  1. Click View in the top menu.

  2. Select Toolbars.

  3. Enable Exposure Bar.

  4. Enable Gamma & Sharpness Bar.

Confirm the Camera Settings

Confirm that the following settings are applied:

Camera settingRecommended value
Exposure AutoOff
Exposure Time1/120 second by default
Gain AutoOff
GainAdjust according to the lighting conditions
Brightness240
Gamma1.0
Auto Reference30
Acquisition Frame Rate30 FPS or higher

The gain value depends on the lighting conditions in the room.

Adjust the gain until:

  • The ball is clearly visible.

  • The playing surface is clearly visible.

  • The image is not too dark.

  • Bright areas are not overexposed.

  • There is no excessive image noise.

Step 4: Open the Recording Information Dialog

To open the recording controls:

  1. In the IC Capture toolbar, click Capture.

  2. Select Toggle Recording Info Dialog.

The Recording Information dialog will then appear.

Step 5: Select the Recording Location

In the Recording Information dialog, choose the folder where the recordings should be saved.

We recommend creating a folder on the Desktop using the following naming format:

[System Name]-Recording

Example:

M16-Recording

This makes it easier to identify which PuttView system was used for the recording.

Step 6: Start Recording

To begin recording:

  1. Click the red circle button.

  2. Confirm that the recording has started.

  3. Begin playing putts or the game that you would like to record.

You can record in either of the following ways:

  • Record one long, continuous video.

  • Stop the current video and begin a new recording.

To stop the current recording:

  1. Click the square stop button.

  2. Click the red circle again when you are ready to start a new recording.

Reminder

Automatic ball tracking is disabled during recording.

All points and ball positions must be entered manually using the tablet.

Step 7: Finish the Recording Session

When you have finished recording:

  1. Click the square button to stop the recording.

  2. Confirm that the recording has stopped.

  3. Close the PuttView application.

  4. Close IC Capture.

  5. Reopen the PuttView application only.

Do not reopen IC Capture unless you need to record additional videos.

PuttView can then be used normally again with automatic ball tracking enabled.
